Circle Academy has been a Universal Pre-Kindergarten provider since the 2007-2008 school year. Our Pre-K curriculum is aligned with the New York State Pre-Kindergarten benchmarks and the Common Core Learning Standards. Our classrooms are “center based” with theme related activities in learning centers designed to encourage children’s cognitive, social-emotional and physical development. Circle Academy provides children with the opportunity to think on a higher level by asking open ended questions. Every child is provided the opportunity to participate in shared and independent learning experiences. These experiences include reading, writing, math, science, art, sensory, and imaginative play. Our open door policy allows parents the opportunity to play a major role in their child’s educational experience. Parents are invited into the classroom to be “mystery readers” in addition to weekend projects focused around the particular thematic units of study. Student’s milestones are documented through the Pearson online work sampling system in order to track academia and social/emotional growth to ensure teacher reflection in order to modify or adapt to the environment for successful student outcomes.
