In the two-year-old program our beginning goal is to help the children with the transition into the program and ease any separation anxiety. The practiced philosophy at Circle Academy is that every child is unique and learns at his or her own pace. Beginning at age 2, we introduce structure and socialization in a safe, caring, clean, healthy developmentally appropriate learning environment. We provide children with the skills they need for language development. Our classrooms are structured in a way that learning is done through music and movement, which helps to build on their vocabulary while learning new concepts. Socialization is an integral part of our program where many children are just learning how to share and becoming spatially aware of a new environment. We encourage kindness and self-awareness, as this is important for their future growth as individuals as well as developing their independence.
We also incorporate the Montessori approach into our toddler program, which includes “growing into capable individuals who will have a strong sense of self, the ability to connect with others, and the potential to be productive throughout their lives.” With Montessori, that growth starts at an early age. “The early years (birth through age 6) are a critical time to set a strong foundation for who a child will become and the role she or he will play in the future.” Our classrooms are set up with developmentally appropriate materials that peak the children’s interests and foster a love of learning at an early age. Children can freely explore materials around the classroom.
We provide many themed related manipulatives that focus on building their fine motor skills, strengthening hand muscles as well as hand-eye coordination. It is an amazing journey to watch our toddlers grow from the start of the school year to the end. We give them the confidence for the next step in their educational lives and the next stage of their learning in our three’s program.
